Special Screening of “Sarfarosh” to Commemorate Its 25th Anniversary in Mumbai; Aamir Khan and Sonali Bendre to Attend

On April 30th, Sarfarosh (1999), one of the most beloved films in Indian cinema, celebrated its 25th anniversary. Starring Aamir Khan and Sonali Bendre in lead roles, the film garnered praise for its realistic yet commercial treatment, action sequences, performances, engaging plot, and timeless music. As a film that stands out, it is only fitting that its 25th anniversary is celebrated in grand fashion. In a few days, a special event will take place to commemorate Sarfarosh. According to reports from Bollywood Hungama, Aamir Khan and Sonali Bendre are set to attend the 25th anniversary screening of Sarfarosh. Mukesh Rishi, who portrayed a memorable character in the film, has also confirmed his presence.
While it is uncertain if Naseeruddin Shah will be able to attend, the director, John Matthew Matthan, and the music director, Lalit Pandit, will grace the screening. As is customary with Radio Nasha screenings, the cast and crew will be felicitated and encouraged to share their memories and trivia alongside RJ Divya Solgama. Following the celebrations, Sarfarosh will be screened. Fans will also have the opportunity to win tickets to the premiere, making it an unforgettable event for all. The source expects a massive turnout for the premiere, considering that there is a whole generation of viewers who may have been too young or not yet born when Sarfarosh was released in 1999.
The film remains relevant as it tackles pressing issues like cross-border terrorism and arms trafficking. Additionally, its songs, especially ‘Hosh Waalon ko Khabar Kya,’ continue to resonate with audiences. Radio Nasha has previously organized screenings for significant films, with one of the most memorable being the 25th-anniversary screening of Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994) on August 9, 2019, at Mumbai’s Liberty Cinema. The event was graced by Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, director Sooraj Barjatya, and many others. The lead actors even danced, taking everyone on a nostalgic trip down memory lane. In 2022, Radio Nasha organized a screening of Gupt (1994) on its 25th anniversary on July 9 at Metro Inox Cinema.
