Allu Arjun is in talks to play the titular role in Aditya Dhar’s dream project ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’

Jio Studios recently put Aditya Dhar’s dream project “The Immortal Ashwatthama” on indefinite hold due to financial concerns, but according to the newest sources, the studio and Dhar are once again ready to resurrect the film.

And the makers intend to put Telugu superstar Allu Arjun in the lead role. According to recent media reports, the studio and Dhar are in preliminary talks with superstar Allu Arjun to once again resurrect this project which was put on hold due to excessive budget. Pinkvilla reports that the filmmaker and top officials at Jio Studios are in talks with Allu Arjun to play the lead role. The discussions are still in their early stages, but Allu has expressed interest in the film’s distinctive and ambitious scenario.

The Pinkvilla source told “Ashwatthama is Aditya Dhar’s dream, which will come to life with Jio Studios coming on board as the producers. The filmmaker and top officials at Jio Studios are in talks with Allu Arjun to play the lead. The conversations are in the initial stages at the moment, and Allu has shown some interest in the unique and ambitious world of the film. The conversation could materialize into something fruitful or could just fizzle out too, but, a couple of meetings have already taken place over the last few months.”

The producers of ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’ have already gone through several casting options for the titular character. Vicky Kaushal was originally cast in the lead role, however, he was eventually replaced by Ranveer Singh.  But later makers also decided to drop him from the project because his last two films failed at the box office. There were also few reports that makers were also thinking of casting Jr. NTR but he declined the offer.
