Ranbir Kapoor Set to Lead ‘Dhoom 4’; Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra Will Not Return

Ranbir Kapoor fans received an exciting surprise on the actor’s 42nd birthday, as reports suggest he has been cast to lead Dhoom 4, the highly anticipated fourth installment of the iconic Dhoom franchise. Produced by Yash Raj Films, this series is renowned for its thrilling action and stylish storytelling. Journalist and box-office tracker Himesh Mankad broke the news on social media, stating, “MEGA EXCLUSIVE: RANBIR KAPOOR LOCKED FOR DHOOM 4; ADITYA CHOPRA READY TO ROLL FROM 2025 END.” He added that the film is set to begin production by the end of 2025, once Ranbir completes his current project, Ramayana.

According to sources close to the production, Ranbir will portray the antagonist, following in the footsteps of previous villains like Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and John Abraham. The discussions regarding his involvement have been ongoing for some time, and he expressed interest in joining the franchise after hearing the initial concept. The source emphasized that Aditya Chopra believes Ranbir is the perfect choice to carry on the Dhoom legacy.Notably, the film will not feature Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, who have been integral to the series since its inception. Instead, two prominent younger actors will step in to play the roles of cop buddies in Dhoom 4.
With the core storyline now locked, the casting process is set to begin. The film aims to be not only the biggest in the Dhoom series but also a major cinematic event on a global scale.On the work front, Ranbir was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s action thriller Animal, which achieved remarkable box office success, grossing nearly Rs 1,000 crore. He will soon appear in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana alongside Sai Pallavi. The Dhoom series, which began in 2004, has consistently pushed the boundaries of the action genre, and fans are eagerly awaiting this new chapter.
