Wiki – Priyadarshan Nair is a popular Indian film director, screenwriter and producers. He has directed more than 80 movies in different languages including Hindi, Malyalam, Telugu and Tamil in past 30 years. He was born in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala and has done his masters in Psychology from University College in his city itself. He was an avid reader since his teenage years and even wrote a number of plays and skits during his college days. As far as his personal life is concerned he is married to his old time love the popular film actress called Lizy whom he got married in 1990. After marriage, the actress gave her acting career and adopted a new name Lakshmi for the religious reason. She then adopted the Hindu religion of Arya Samaj and have two kids with Priyadarshan with one is called as Kalyani and the other is Siddharth. Both their children are based in United States for their studies.

Biography : Though he has started his career in films from South Indian Film Industry, however, he is also known to produce certain good Hindi movies as well coming in Bollywood. He loves making thriller and action movie. He started his career as a producer of a movie called Shankar with these friends Sanal Kumar and Suresh Kumar. This was surprising a big hit, which helped him to move ahead in his film career. Some of his early best south Indian movies include Poochakkoru Mookkuthi, Thalavattam, Mazha Peyyunnu Maddalam Kottunnu, Vellanakalude Nadu, etc. Besides, he is also known for making some of the most comedy movies as well apart from the action and thrill. He is the man who introduced rich color grading, crisp sound and high quality dubbing in his early Malayalam movies.

Some of his known Bollywood movies include Hungama, Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Hulchul, Chup Chup Ke, Bhagam Bhag, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Dhol. He has worked with Akshay Kumar, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, etc. His tamil movie called Kachivaram has led him a national award, while he is also the recipient of the Padma Shri Award in 2012 for his excellent contribution in arts and movies. As far as awards are concerned he has won a number of state and Government of Indian awards for his various movies. His offbeat movie Kanchivaram was declared as one of the best feature films, which even fetched him national award in 2007. In total, he has won four National Awards, with two as producer one for cinematography and remaining one was for art direction.
