Wiki – Pritam Chakraborty is generally popular as Pritam who happens to be a popular Indian music director and composes for Bollywood and Kolkata based movies. Pritam has been in Bollywood since a decade and has given some of the best songs and music including the one from Dhoom the title song called Dhoom Machale. He hails from West Bengal and moved to Bombay after completed his course in sound engineering from the prestigious institute called FTII Pune. During his struggling days, he formed a band to compose jingles, which included the famous one called Santro, Head and Shoulders and Emami along with a couple of TV serials like Kavyanjali, Astitva, Remix, Yeh meri lifehain, Mili, Kashmir and Dil kya kare.
Biography : Finally he got his debut break with Sanjay Gadhvi’s movie called Tere Liye wherein he also roped his friends Jeet as music composers. Though the music was applauded, however the movie turned a big flop giving not much recognition as expected. However, in the year 2002 the duo did the music for the movie Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai again directed by the same director. Later the two separated and started doing solo composition. The very first solo composition of Pritam came from the movie Fun2shhh, Ankahee, Agnipankh, etc. In 2004, he did another Yash Raj film called, Dhoom, which was a big hit making this man popular in the B Town. He then gave good hits including Chocolate, Gangster, Garam Masala, Woh Lamhe, Life in a Metro, Dhoom 2, etc. When he worked with Anurag Basu he helped him to carve his different image getting all together a different music in the form of Metro band.

Besides, he is also involved in TV shows including being in the judges panel of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009 at Zee TV, Chhote Ustaad, X Factor and the Saregamapa 2012-2013 at Zee Bangla. Also, he performs live and has done a number of shows both in India and abroad. He has won a number of awards from Screen, Filfare, IIFA.
