Emergency: Kangana Ranaut unveils the look of Satish Kaushik aka late defence minister Jagjivan Ram

Kangana Ranaut took to her social media handle to share actor Satish Kaushik’s look from the forthcoming film Emergency on Wednesday. Veteran actor Satish will play the late defence minister Jagjivan Ram, who was also a liberation warrior, in the film. Kangana Ranaut will play former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the film.
Kangana Ranaut captioned an Instagram photo showcasing Satish’s role in the film, “Last but not the least… Presenting the powerhouse of talent Satish Kaushik as Jagjivan Ram in Emergency, popularly known as Babuji, he was one of the most revered politicians in the Indian political history.” Satish, too, took to Instagram and shared his look from the film. He wrote in his caption, “Honoured to essay the role of Jagjivan Ram also known as Babuji, the most compassionate and the crusader of social justice in Kangana Ranaut directorial Emergency.”
Emergency, is based on the life of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, and Kangana plays the late politician. Kangana is also the project’s director. This is Kangana’s first solo directing effort. Kangana has released the first glimpse of various characters in Emergency thus far.
Shreyas Talpade will play former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the forthcoming drama, while Anupam Kher will play Jayaprakash Narayan. Pupul Jayakar, a cultural activist and confidante of Indira Gandhi, will be portrayed by Mahima Chaudhry. Milind Soman will play Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in her forthcoming directorial.
Kangana Ranaut’s film is billed as the narrative of a watershed moment in India’s political history. The script and lines for the film were written by Ritesh Shah. Renu Pitti and Kangana are the producers of Emergency. The project is currently being filmed by the team.
