Dia Mirza Joins ALT EFF 2024 Jury to Advocate for Environmental Cinema: “Cinema’s Power to Evoke Empathy…”

The All Living Things Environmental Film Festival (ALT EFF) is excited to announce its return with the 2024 edition, taking place from November 22 to December 8. This year, the festival will present a total of 72 films, including 38 that will be premiering in India. The festival has rapidly gained popularity as a highly anticipated event for those interested in environmentally conscious cinema, offering a wide array of films that shed light on crucial environmental issues, from climate change to wildlife conservation. What sets this year’s edition apart is ALT EFF’s initiative to extend the reach of these insightful films beyond conventional venues. For the first time, the festival will conduct screenings in metro cities as well as 55 locations in smaller towns and villages throughout India during the festival duration.
This is in addition to 45 screenings scheduled in 14 tier-1 cities. This initiative is aimed at promoting environmental awareness at various grassroots levels, ensuring that discussions on environmental protection and sustainability permeate every corner of the country.Kunal Khanna, the Festival Director, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming edition, stating, “We are delighted to announce the 2024 dates for ALT EFF and extend our screenings to non-urban areas. Engaging communities beyond metro cities in these discussions is crucial, and cinema has the unique ability to connect people from diverse backgrounds. Keeping in mind the linguistic diversity in India, we have leveraged AI this year to translate foreign language films into regional languages and to curate films produced in regional languages. With 38 India premieres and 72 remarkable films, we are eager to create an inclusive platform that brings environmental issues to the forefront, inspiring audiences everywhere.
