Alia Bhatt Provides Key Update on Jee Le Zaraa, Confirms Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif Starrer Is Still On: “Everyone Wants the Film to Happen
The film industry was abuzz when Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif announced an unprecedented partnership with Excel Entertainment for the film Jee Le Zaraa. Despite the initial fanfare, the project, which was unveiled three years ago, has not made any headway, leading to speculation that it might be indefinitely put on hold. However, during the recent Jigra promotions, Alia Bhatt provided a significant update, expressing optimism that the film will eventually see the light of day.
Alia Bhatt reassured in a statement that all those involved in the project are working diligently to bring it to fruition. She confirmed that the film will certainly take off once the schedules of all the actors align. In a conversation with Lallantop, Alia stated, “There is no schedule right now, no shoot day. Definitely hogi (it will happen). It’s a film that everybody, jo bhi key players hai uss film mein (whoever are the key players in the film) – actors, producers, directors – everybody wants the film to happen.” This statement also served to dispel rumors about Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif exiting the project. Jee Le Zaraa, a groundbreaking women-centric friendship drama, is anticipated to be a road trip film that delves into the dynamics of friendship among three modern, urban women.
Excel Entertainment has previously tasted success in this genre with films like Dil Chahta Hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, both of which explored male friendships. The film, directed by Farhan Akhtar, has been facing challenges in bringing the three lead actors together, especially given Alia’s multiple commitments and Priyanka’s international projects.
