Box Office Clash: Vikrant Massey’s “12th Fail” Outshines “Tejas” on Saturday; “Tejas” Struggles at the Hindi Cinema Box Office

In an unexpected turn of events, Vikrant Massey’s film 12th Fail beat Kangana Ranaut’s film Tejas at the domestic box office on Saturday. Massey is known to charge Rs. 75 lakhs per film, while Ranaut claims to charge anywhere between Rs. 10-15 crore per film.

BTown is shocked by this development, as Ranaut is a much bigger star than Massey. However, it seems that audiences were more drawn to Massey’s film, which is based on a real-life story. This is a major victory for Massey and his team. It shows that audiences are willing to watch films that are well-made and have good stories, regardless of the star power of the actors.

Kangana Ranaut’s ambitious Air Force drama, Tejas, has failed to show any growth in collections at the box office, emerging as a true-blue disaster of Hindi cinema. After scoring Rs 1.25 crore on Friday, Tejas collected another Rs. 1.20 crore on Saturday, taking the two-day total collection to Rs. 2.45 crores. Made on a budget of Rs 60 crore, excluding print and publicity costs, Tejas is expected to entail huge losses for the producers.

On the other hand, the small-budget drama, 12th Fail, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, showed a 100 percent jump in collections on Saturday. According to early estimates, 12th Fail is headed to score Rs. 2.10 to 2.30 crores on the second day, taking the day’s total collection to Rs. 3.30 crores. This is going to continue. Stay tuned to know more about it and others only withus.
