The John Abraham starrer film RAW or Romeo Akbar Walter had a decent weekend. The film that is based on a true story of the 1971 war, however, had an underwhelming response. On the first day, the film registered 10 to 15 percent occupancy in the morning shows, which went on to escalate on Saturday and Sunday. The meager collection on the first day went on with 5 Crores against the expected 7 to 9 crores. The second day, however, witnessed a decent surge when compared to the first day.
The first Saturday recorded the collection of around 7.5 Crores, which was decent enough to close the second day for the film. The most enterprising day for the spy thriller film was Sunday, which recorded the best of the collection reaching to around 9.5 Crores. Together, the box office collection for the first weekend ended up on a decent note. So, with these figures, the 1st-weekend box office collection reached to around 22 Crores.
The film was made at the budget of around 35 Crores, so the makers have little amount to cover to reach into the profit zone. The film, however, faced tough competition still from films like Kesari and Luka Chuppi. This somewhere hampered the film’s collection in some way. However, the positive buzz for the film managed to give a decent collection. Let’s see how things move in the coming days, but as of now, the story for the film’s collection was decent enough to celebrate for the makers.
