Prabhudeva & Mohanlal decorated with the third most honorary award Padma Bhushan by President Ram Nath Kovind
Receiving the distinguished honorary award in India is the biggest dream come moment for any of the Indian citizen. It was once again awarded to a couple of industry veterans from the film industry. Recognized as the third-highest civilian award in the Republic of India, Padma Bhushan is further preceded by two other awards- the Bharat Ratna and the Padma Vibhushan and is followed by the Padma Shri. The award is presented to an Indian citizen for his/her “distinguished service of a higher order in any of the fields, irrespective of their race, occupation, position or sex.
The Padma Awards 2019 were honored today under a well represented function held in Delhi. President of India, Ram Nath Kovind awarded the Padma Bhushan to a couple of other distinguished names including two South Indian superstars- Mohanlal (Malayalam Superstar) and Prabhudeva (hotshot dancer). Both of these well deserved icons were present at the award ceremony to receive this honor. Mohanlal has delivered some of the finest south Indian films during his career regime while Prabhudeva has remained to be a youth icon with the best dance moves ever. He is even considered as Michael Jackson of Bollywood. Apart from dancing, he has also been part of a couple of movies inspired from dance.
Around 112 “inspiring” personalities have been selected for being awarded this year’s Padma awards whose names were announced on the Republic Day eve, this year. The remaining awardees will be awarded the honorary during another function that will be held on March 16, as informed by the Home Ministry officials.
