YRF buys ‘Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’s international distribution rights!
Shah Rukh Khan’s next film ‘Jawan’ is the most anticipated film of the year. Since its official release date of September 7th was announced a few days ago, it has been trending all over social media. Fans of Shah Rukh Khan and moviegoers alike are eager to see the film in theatres.
According to recent reports, Shah Rukh Khan and Yash Raj Films (YRF) are teaming up to offer ‘Jawan’ the broadest international distribution conceivable for an Indian film ever.
Sunday, Yash Raj Films took to Twitter to announce that they would release ‘Jawan’ in the international market. Sharing the new teaser of Jawan, the makers tweeted, “YRF to distribute #Jawan in international markets. #7thSeptember2023 #YRFInternational | @RedChilliesEnt (sic).”

It will be Shah Rukh and YRF’s second collaboration this year, following ‘Pathaan,’ which smashed all Bollywood box office records by breaking the Rs. 1000 crore mark at the global box office.

Given that YRF has given ‘Pathaan’ the biggest possible release for a Hindi film, this is a very deliberate decision. ‘Pathaan’ was released on over 2500 screens in over 100 countries outside of India, with a total of 5500 screens in India. It will be interesting to watch how far ‘Jawan’ travels when it is released internationally.

Helmed by Atlee Kumar, the action thriller ‘Jawan’ also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, and Priyamani in pivotal roles. The film marks Hindi debut of Nayanthara.
