This statue was inaugurated lately in the presence of the Yash Chopra family members, wife Pamela Chopra and Rani Mukherji along with slew of Swiss Ministers and Bureaucrats present at the occasion. The statue weight 350 KGs made up of pure bronze and the veteran filmmaker is seen in his iconic pose of directing a movie.
Yash Chopra films having Switzerland has made the place popular among the South Asian tourists who now flock a lot in this country. Elements like warm hospitality and natural beauty are the part and parcel of this country, which had special place in the movies of Yash Raj. The statue would be installed at the heart of Interlaken, which is inside the Kursaal area close to the Congress Centre. It happens to be an important popular spot for the tourists. This is not the first time that Yash Chopra has been honored with such globally acclaimed recognition. The government of Interlaken has also recognized him giving him the honorary title called Ambassador of Interlaken just one year before his death in 2011, while Jungfrau Railways then named a special train after this great filmmaker, which was the honor that shared earlier only with the founder of the Railways there called Adof Guyer. Moreover, the 5 star Victoria Jungfrau Grand sizzlingel and Spa in the same place Interlaken has also named a suite after this great filmmaker.
