Yami Gautam never wanted to become an actor in the first place

Yes, you read it right! She had actually wished to become an IAS officer since childhood. Yami Gautam was born in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. She was an introverted and shy kid. Like other individuals, she too had a childhood desire to serve the country by joining the IAS. But then something transpired in her life that changed everything.

One day her father’s friend visited their house along with his wife. Her wife turned out to be a television actress. This woman saw Yami’s hidden talent and thought she had all the qualities to become an actress after seeing her. She suggested that Yami’s mom make her join the theatre. She even took some pictures of her and shared them with multiple production houses in Mumbai.

Following this, the actress photographed Yami and submitted them to many production houses in Mumbai. Yami, on the other hand, prioritised her studies at that moment. So she didn’t take it seriously.

Studying law, leaving it, and entering the acting space

Yami Gautam was studying law, but she didn’t like it, so she decided to leave it and become an actress. When she showed her interest in acting, she received full support from her mother, and this is when her modelling days began. It seems that God planned the same for her. Yami started afresh by making her television debut.

Her first show was “Chand Ke Paar Chalo,” after which the actress featured alongside Gaurav Khanna in the daily soap “Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam.” In this TV show, people admired Yami’s simplicity and innocence, and she became a household name in no time.

Do you know that Yami’s first movie wasn’t a Bollywood film?

Yami made her film debut in 2009 with the Malayalam film Ullas Uthasha. She quickly shifted to Bollywood, however.

In 2012, Yami made her Bollywood debut with the film “Vicky Donor.” She played the lead alongside Ayushmann Khurrana in this film, where she played a Bengali girl. Vicky Donor was well-received by viewers, and it was a box-office success. After this, Yami Gautam went on to appear in Hindi, Malayalam, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Marathi films, including Ek Noor, Gauravum, Yuddham, Action Jackson, Badlapur, Kaabil, Sarkar 3, Uri: The Surgical Strike, and Bala, Sanam Re, and Dasvi. Huh.
