Vivek Agnihotri calls Bollywood ‘deaf, dumb & blind’, says it hasn’t learnt anything from the success of Kashmir Files, Karthikeya 2 & Kantara
Vivek Agnihotri is known for making bitter and fierce statements about Bollywood. The Kashmir Files director has always talked about the industry and its drawbacks openly on social media. He has once again voiced his opinion on Twitter, claiming that Bollywood hasn’t learnt anything from the success of films like The Kashmir Files, Karthikeya 2, and Kantara.
We are all aware of the hardships that the Hindi film industry has faced for two years, with almost every film disappointing at the box office. Several big-budget movies have failed to impress the audience and have been declared box office flops. On the other hand, smaller and regional ones are doing quite well. Amid this, Vivek Agnihotri reprimands Bollywood for failing to grasp the simple logic.
The filmmaker expressed how he can see Bollywood’s lack of learning by mentioning lineups like TKF, the Telugu movie Karthikrya 2, the Tamil-Hindi film Rocketry, and others. Vivek shared his opinion on Twitter, where he wrote, “4 small films with no stars, no marketing or distribution support #TheKashmirFiles, #Kartikeya2, #Kantara & #Rocketry earned approx 800 Cr at BO. The total cost of production of four films was under 75 cr. Is Bollywood blind, deaf, and dumb that they don’t understand simple maths and learn?”

Vivek’s thoughtful words came after the roaring success of Rishab Shetty’s Kantara, which has created havoc in theatres. The movie has received amazing word-of-mouth and effortlessly managed to surpass the 250 crore mark while still running in theatres. It has become one of the highest-earning Kannada movies so far.
We all know the massive budget of films like Laal Singh Chaddha, Raksha Bandhan, Samrat Prithviraj, and others. Despite the star power, they miserably failed at the box office. But, low-budget content-rich movies like The Kashmir Files, Kantara, Kartikeya 2, and others have outperformed them easily.
