Vinay Pathak is a popular film and theatre actor, who was born on 12th July 1968 in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. He is popular for his coming timing in a number of movies like Johnny Gaddar, Khosla Ka Gholsa, etc. He did his schooling from Vikas Vidyalaya from Ranchi and is an alumnus of the batch of 1982. He then headed to Allahabad to do his graduation followed by flying to the US for his further studies. He attended the State University of New York at Stony Brook and then was seen in a number of plays. Pathak was seen doing bigger roles before trying his luck in comedy films like Bheja Fry and Khosla Ka Ghosla, which gave him rave reviews.

Vinay Pathak debut in Bollywood started with the film Bombay Boys in 1998 wherein he played the character of a Chaiwala. At the same time, he got the chance to do TV wherein he was seen in the popular Zee TV serial called Hip Hip Hurray in 1999. Since the late ninties in the film it was no looking back as he was seen in different roles for the movies like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega, Jism, etc. His entry into comedy started with the film Khosla Ka Ghosla, Bheja Fry and its sequel. Some of his accomplished films include Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Oh My God, Challo Dilli, Johnny Gaddaar and Aaja Nachle, while his recent movies include Badlapur and Chidiya. His upcoming film is Gour Hari Dastaan wherein he has acted the character of a struggling man.

Apart from acting in the films and TV, Vinay Pathak was also seen producing, which started and ended with film like Dasvidaniya wherein he showcased the story of a common man bidding farewell before passing by. Besides, he has also done anchoring in a couple of shows, which include Channel V called Oye. He and his friend Ranvir Shorey has also had their talk show called Ranvir Vinay Aur Kaun, which was seen at Star TV. The two also co-hosted the show called House Arrest over the Channel V. This followed another called Duniya Goal Hain on the ESPN Star Sports channel. He also hosetd the show Cricket Crazy with his friend Ranvir at Star Sports. As far as awards are concerned, he has received two awards, which include Star Guild Award for Best actor in a Comic Role for the film Bheja Fry.
