Tiger 3- 1st Week Box Office: The Salman Khan film experiences a surge in box office numbers

Salman Khan’s highly anticipated action-thriller, Tiger 3, has faced an unfortunate turn of events as its box office performance has been significantly impacted by the ongoing Cricket World Cup. With today marking the much-awaited final between India and Australia, a significant portion of the audience is expected to remain home to witness the nail-biting match, resulting in a substantial decline in cinema attendance. Let’s delve into the advance booking figures for Tiger 3’s day 8 to assess the impact of the cricket fever on its box office run.

Helmed by director Maneesh Sharma and boasting a star-studded cast including Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi, Tiger 3 hit the silver screen on November 12th. However, the film’s release coincided with the auspicious occasion of Laxmi Pujan, a Hindu festival that traditionally involves family gatherings and home rituals. This decision by YRF drew criticism from fans, who expressed their disappointment that the film’s premiere clashed with such an important cultural event.

The impact was evident in the film’s opening day collections, which were lower than expected. Just as signs of recovery emerged, the ongoing Cricket World Cup has further dampened the film’s box office prospects, as many audiences are opting to stay home and watch the high-stakes matches instead of visiting cinemas.

Tiger 3 is expected to face another significant setback in its box office collection today, a trend already evident in the advance booking figures for day 8. Despite being a Sunday, the film has witnessed a decline in pre-sales, with tickets worth approximately ₹3.15 crores gross (excluding blocked seats) sold across India. This translates to a ticket count of over 1.50 lakhs.

Tiger 3’s advance booking for day 8 has taken a significant hit, dropping by 21% compared to yesterday’s ₹4 crores gross. This decline is a clear indication that the film’s box office performance will be severely impacted by the Cricket World Cup final between India and Australia.
