RIP Lata Mangeshkar: Bollywood mourns the demise of Legendary singer
Bollywood’s legendary singer and Bharat Ratna awardee Lata Mangeshkar passed away at the age of 92. The veteran was tested positive of COVID-19 with mulf symptoms, she was then admitted to Breach Candy Hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU). Dr Pratit Samdani along with his team of doctors was treating her. There were reports in January that her condition is getting improved and she had been taken off the ventilator. However, her health got worse on Saturday. The legend sadly left the world and passed away. The news of her death was confirmed by N Santhanam, chief executive officer of Breach Candy Hospital.
“She came and got admitted as a Covid patient. Covid was treated but due to post Covid complications she passed away,” said N Santhanam said.
The news came as a shock for many of her fans and well-wishers. Many big names like PM Modi and the entertainment industry people mourn the loss.

Now her body will be taken to Shivaji Park where it will be kept for public homage.
Lata Mangeshkar, began her career at the age of 13 in 1942 and has sung over 30,000 songs in various Indian languages. She was regarded as one of Indian cinema’s best playback singers.
She has sung a number of noteworthy songs throughout the course of her seven-decade career, including Ajeeb dastan hai ye, Pyar kiya to darna kya, and Neela asman so gaya.
The Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour, as well as the Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, and the Dada Saheb Phalke Award, have all been bestowed to the vocalist, also known as Melody Queen of India.
