Nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar is no more!
Lata Mangeshkar had been showing indications of improvement for a few days, and her team had come forward to beg everyone to pray for her. Lata Mangeshkar passed away today after a long battle in the hospital.
According to a Times of India report, Lata Mangeshkar breathed her last at 8:12 AM. The singer’s family will let friends and fans pay homage at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park.
In the world of playback singing, Lata Mangeshkar was a force to be reckoned with. She offered us musical classics like Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo, Lag Jaa Gale, Yeh Kahan Aage Hain Hum, and Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya over her seven-decade career. She received numerous honours for her outstanding talent, including the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
On January 8, she was taken to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital after testing positive for Covid-19. Over the last few weeks, she has been receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Her health has deteriorated after showing signs of improvement previously. Regrettably, she died away today, leaving the entire country in mourning.
On social media, a number of politicians, athletes, Bollywood and television icons expressed their profound sympathies. Fans of the iconic musician have expressed their sadness on social media, recalling good memories. As netizens remembered her legacy, her renowned songs again emerged.
