Sikandar Box Office Day 1 Prediction: Aims for a Strong Start but No Record-Breaking Opening for Salman Khan!

The wait is almost over, with less than 24 hours remaining until the grand release of Sikandar. In the rapidly changing landscape of the Indian box office, films like JawanStree 2, and Chhaava have set impressive collection benchmarks, raising expectations for this magnum opus. However, initial projections indicate that Salman Khan’s latest film may not meet the high expectations for its opening day. Here’s a detailed prediction report!

Underwhelming Promotional Campaign

As Sikandar marks the debut collaboration between Salman Khan and AR Murugadoss, both fans and neutral observers were eager for the film. The announcement teaser succeeded in generating excitement, but subsequent promotional materials failed to elevate that enthusiasm. While the songs received decent traction, none emerged as major hits. The trailer, which was the last opportunity to boost interest, was well-crafted but ultimately did not create the significant impact hoped for. In summary, aside from the initial teaser, the promotional efforts have been lackluster.

Advance Booking Trends

Tiger 3 enjoyed impressive advance bookings of over ₹20 crore for its opening day, largely thanks to the established brand value of the Tiger franchise and the momentum from the success of Pathaan. In contrast, Sikandar lacks a similar brand appeal, relying solely on Salman Khan’s star power and Murugadoss’s reputation.

Advance bookings for Sikandar are expected to settle below the ₹10 crore mark. While bookings in the ₹6-8 crore range may seem decent, they fall short for a film with a budget of ₹200 crores, leading to disappointing numbers. In today’s market, advance bookings serve as a crucial indicator of a film’s hype, and Sikandar does not appear to be positioned favorably.

Day 1 Predictions for Sikandar

Aside from the collaboration between Salman Khan and AR Murugadoss, one major advantage for Sikandar is its Sunday release. Salman’s films traditionally benefit from strong on-the-spot bookings, particularly in B and C centers. With no direct competition, the film is expected to secure a substantial number of shows, estimated between 18,000 and 20,000 nationwide.

Taking all factors into account, Sikandar is projected to earn between ₹34-38 crore net at the Indian box office on its opening day. While this figure would be solid in isolation, it appears underwhelming when compared to recent benchmarks for Bollywood blockbusters. Even for Salman Khan, this performance would fall short of expectations, as it was initially anticipated that Sikandar would surpass Tiger 3’s opening of ₹44.50 crores.
