Salim Khan Supports BJP

Famous Bollywood script writer, Salim Khan launched BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s Urdu website in Mumbai from his residence in suburban Bandra, with BJP leader Shaina NC on Wednesday. The website, www.narendramodi.in is already available for reading in 11 regional languages (Gujarati, Hindi, Sanskrit, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Punjabi and Assamese and Odia) along with English and 4 foreign languages (Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Spanish).

Modi’s launching of Urdu website is being taken as technology oriented initiative to share his view and opinions and to reach to the commoners residing across the borders. The website showcases Modi’s biography and highlights Gujarat’s development initiatives in the last decade along with his focus on soliciting the Nation.

 “No party is secular, people are secular. I am secular. In my family, there are people following different religions. For me all religions are one,” said Salim during the launch of the website. Salim, who is himself a Muslim, is married to Maharashtrian Hindu Sushila, and yesteryear Bollywood actress Helen who is the daughter of an Anglo Indian father and Burmese mother.“I feel that Muslims need to trust Narendra Modi and put behind the memories of 2002 Gujarat riots and move forward,” said Salim defending Narendra Modi on the 2002 Gujarat riotsby pointing out that in last 12 years, no riots have taken place there.

Narendra Modi even thanked Salim Khan via- Twitter for launching the website. Earlier, in the introductory note of the book ‘Modi, Muslims and Media, Salim had blamed the media for Modi’s anti-Muslim image and showed his support to Modi.
