Sadak 2 trailer receives massive hate. Why?
The reason behind the massive hate of Sadak 2.
As the debate around nepotism continues in the wake of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, a trailer starring actors from film families just got 10 million dislikes – a number that’s growing steadily.
Sadak 2 is a proceeding part to 1991 hit Sadak, directed by Mahesh Bhatt and starring his daughter Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt. In this movie Alia Bhatt plays the role of a young woman exposing a godman with Sanjay Dutt. The film also stars Aditya Roy Kapur another star kid with Makarand Deshpande and Gulshan Grover.
The negative response for this movie comes after the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June. His sucide, initiated huge debates on nepotism and the culture of inner circles in Bollywood, and got people hating on all the film stars who were the products of nepotism. The trailer of Sadak 2 is now the most disliked movie trailer in history. It is also the third most disliked video in the world.
Ever since the sucide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput earlier in June, Mahesh Bhatt has been at receiving end on social media, like many Bollywood celebrities who accused of promoting nepotism and scuttling the chances of outsiders.
The lack of diversity in the movies, along with the fact that vilifying Alia Bhatt and the cohort of star kids easier than fixing a systematic industry – wide problem is why we suspect Sadak 2 has not been received well by fans.
This trailer, which is trending at #1 in India, sees viewers who are coming in just to dislike the video based on cast. To compares, the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s last release Dil Bechara, which came out in July, was received overwhelmingly to become the first YouTube trailer to receive 10 million likes.
