Masaba Gupta is a fashion designer from Mumbai who runs her own brand known as House of Masaba. She was born on 2nd November 1989 to Neena Gupta and former cricketer Viv Richards. She did her schooling from Mumbai and later completed her graduation from SNDT University. She wanted to be a tennis player but later got attracted to dance and music. She wanted to join the dance group of Shimak Davar, but when her mom discouraged it, she dropped the idea.

She then headed to London to join a music and dance school but again left as she was feeling lonely there. She finally joined Premlila Vithaldas Polytechnic SNDT. When she was 19, she headed to apply at Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai seeking the help of Wendell Rodricks. She was applauded for her collections thus getting a good boost in this career. Masaba specializes in ethnic wear and is known to embark with designs that are a perfect blend of both traditional and modern ones. With her exceptional work, she has been named as the top ten best Indian fashion designers.

She has collaborated with global and local brands for her designs. These include the NY-based brand called Maybelline which dealt with coming up with dresses inspired by a new lipstick line. IN 2017, she got the chance to represent her country to showcase her designs at international destinations. She was able to exhibit with Justin Timberlake and several other known faces of fashion. In 2018, she entered the Muslim woman market by coming up with Hijab Saree designs for Indian Muslims. She is part of a TV series called Masaba Masaba having her and her mother. The show will be aired on Netflix this August end. She got married in 2015 to Madhu Mantena Varma, however, they got separated in 2019 with a divorce.
