Robert Redford Passes Away at 89: Bollywood Stars Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor and Others Pay Emotional Tributes

Legendary actor and filmmaker Robert Redford, known for timeless classics like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, All the President’s Men, and Ordinary People, has passed away at the age of 89. His death was confirmed by PR firm Rogers & Cowan PMK in a statement shared with The New York Times and Variety. Redford “died in his sleep early Tuesday morning at his home in Utah,” the statement revealed.
News of his passing sparked heartfelt tributes from across the globe, including from notable Bollywood personalities. Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan shared a poignant quote from Redford on her Instagram Story:

Robert Redford’s illustrious career spanned decades across film, television, and theatre. Early on, he appeared in TV shows like Perry Mason, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and The Twilight Zone. His stage debut included notable productions such as Tall Story and Barefoot in the Park.
His breakthrough film role was alongside Paul Newman in the 1969 classic Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. He is survived by his children Shauna, James, and Amy from his marriage to Lola Van Wagenen, and his wife Sibylle Szaggars Redford, whom he married in 2009. Robert Redford’s enduring legacy as both a performer and filmmaker will be cherished for generations to come.
