It was my wife’s dream to open up a cafe in Mumbai, Mohit Malik

Mohit Malik

He was seen as Sindoora’s (Kamya Punjabi) son in Banoo Mein Teri Dulhan to turning into an antagonist Samrat in Doli Armaano Ki to also exploring his dancing abilities in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, Mohit Malik has done it all. A doting husband to the cute Aditie, Mohit will now be seen in Life OK’s upcoming show produced by Franklin Pictures. The shoot that was supposed to go on floors last  month, has now been postponed to June. While in a chat with us, Mohit expounds on his variety of experiences in the television Industry and also why he will never leave TV for movies.

Here we go..

Since we have already seen you in a negative role, so are you still open doing negative characters in the future too?

You never know, but if something really interesting comes up like a twist in a character I will go for it. In my last show Doli Armaano Ki, my character Samrat was not the negative character initially, but the story changed later on. I would love to do something as equal to Samrat or more challenging to it because Samrat was a very vibrant character. I would love to play Samrat or something with is tougher than that which gives me sleepless nights.

We recently read you are helping your wife with her newly opened cafe. How is that going?

It’s going superb! It was my wife’s dream to open up a cafe in Mumbai, she was looking for a place in Andheri for cafe and I was not able to help her much because I was busy in Jhalak rehearsals and she had done it all and I was not a part of it. It’s completely her baby and she has done a great job and I am proud of her

What are your Valentines day plans?

There are no plans and I don’t believe in such one da y love celebration. I think Valentine should be every day and why it should be only one day. I just feel that you must celebrate your love every day respect your loved ones. For me, every day should be a valentine day

What do you look for in a script?
I make sure my character is important in a script how that character is involved, how it is related to script and how is he taking forward the story. I would always love to play a character which is involved in movie/tv show. I am happy that some people are offering me such kind of roles. Maybe, in future I will be doing such roles very soon.

We heard that you are doing a Life Ok show. Is that true?

Yes, I recently shot with them. The producers are very kind and they waited for me when I was doing Jhalak and they wanted to cast me. I finished with Jhalak and I shot for that but it’s got delayed right now. I haven’t signed anything as of now. I am meeting more people so let’s see.

Where do we see you next?

Very very soon on your TV Screens, I am dying to come back and I am dying to act on screen.

Way to go Mohit
