Oppenheimer IMAX Screen Ticket Prices to Stay Elevated Until July 30, Anticipated Reduction to Regular Rates Starting July 31 Based on Demand

At PVR Lower Parel, regular tickets for morning and post-midnight shows cost Rs. 760 and Rs. 960, respectively, and Rs. 1,160 and Rs. 1,360 for all shows after 3:00 p.m. Recliner seats for morning shows cost Rs. 1,850, and a record Rs. 2,450 for later shows. To put things in perspective, the most expensive ticket for Avatar: The Way of Water in this theater was Rs. 1,750.

In other IMAX theaters in Mumbai, Oppenheimer tickets start at Rs. 700. The same is true for Delhi, although Bengaluru is less expensive. Pune has just one IMAX theater, and the cheapest ticket is Rs. 1,050. The high ticket prices for Oppenheimer are likely due to the film’s large budget and Nolan’s reputation for making visually stunning films. Nolan is known for his use of IMAX cameras, and he has said that Oppenheimer will be his most ambitious film to date. The film is also expected to be a major box office hit, so exhibitors are likely hoping to capitalize on the hype by charging higher prices.

It remains to be seen how audiences will react to the high ticket prices for Oppenheimer. Some fans may be willing to pay the extra money to see the film in IMAX, while others may choose to wait for it to be released on streaming or DVD. Only time will tell whether the high ticket prices will be justified by the film’s quality.

As per Bollywood Hungama, the ticket prices for Oppenheimer will remain high for the first 10 days of its release at least. An exhibition source told us, “Usually, the ticket prices fall on weekdays. However, the ticket prices for Oppenheimer have only fallen slightly on weekdays, and they are still much higher than the usual prices for other films on weekdays.” Stay tuned to know more about the film only with us, while you are free to add you comment below to share your thoughts.
