Bio – Rajkummar Rao or Rajkumar Yadav is an Indian actor who has appeared in a number of Hindi movies. He did his debut with the movie called Love nooky aur Dhoka in the year 2010, while he got popular for his character of Govind played in Kai Po Che in 2013. This role gave him the nomination for the Filmfare Award for the Best Supporting Actor category. Also, he was awarded for national film awards for the best actor award category and Filmfare Critics award for the movie Shahid for playing the character of Shahid Azmi in the year 2013. In a sense, 2013 was lucky for Rajkummar for his acting career in Bollywood.
Looking at his early life and education, he was born in Gurgaon and did his schooling from this city while graduated in Humanities stream from Delhi University. The bug of acting has caught him way back when he was in teenage (10th grade) in Gurgaon only. This made him to do things like theatre along with Shri Ram Centre and Kshitij Repertory in Delhi. He then headed to Pune for his graduation in acting from Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune in the year 2008 and then moved to Bombay for obvious reasons.

His acting career started with a struggle wherein he spent around one year in meeting the casting directors and flocking a number of studios. In the year 2010, he finally got a big break for the main lead in the movie called Love nooky aur Dhokha as Dibakar Banerjee was looking out a newcomer. His performance in the movie applauded from the different quarters of the filmworld. In the span of two years (2010 to 2012), he did a couple of movies, which included Ragini MMS of Ekta Kapoor, Shaitan of Bejoy Nambiar.
Looking at his performance, Anurag Kashyap offered him the role of Shamshad in Gangs of Wasseypur 2 for which he worked hard. He went all the way to Wasseypur, Dhanbad in Jharkhand to perfect his character and accent and went on doing the movie despite his character was slashed down. The next was his movie called Chittagong and then in Talaash which were also appreciated by one and all. The year 2013 saw his two movies – Kai Po Che and of course the movie Shahid wherein his performance was incredible. His recently released movie Citylights has been applauded for his acute performance of rural man who comes all the way to Mumbai to make his living and enhance his lifestyle. His upcoming movie is Hamari Adhuri Kahani, which he will be doing with Emran Hashmi and Vidya Balan.
