Review : Purani Jeans is among the rare movies, which can leave you very much speechless having transparent apathy towards making things work. The lead roles include Tanuj Virwani, Izabelle Leite and Aditya Seal, which is directed by Tanushri Chatterjee Bassu. If you dig deep into the story, Aditya Seal aka Samuel is a young, ambitious and cool kind of guy has just come back to his hometown in order to friends and life. The actor is seen with a group of friends, which comprises of his best friend called Sid played Tanuj Virwani. Though Sam has his set future in the mind wherein he suffers from some of his family issues, Sid aspires to become a writer. Things really look cool till young and beautiful girl drops in the town and then you see both these two guys are falling into love. Then it begins the struggle to fight for survival and love. So, the movie is all about fighting for long, aspiring to become something in life and achieving the goal or dreams.

Talking about the positive things about the movie, Purani Jeans simply focuses over the evolving process and the issues, which every teenager seems to be facing via the path. The director of the movie is very much clear about the elements like friendship, jealously, enjoyment and love, which he has tried to portray perfectly. Purani Jeans is able to connect with today’s youth who comes up with different problems in his day to day life, while Aditya being a newcomer still happens to be brilliant in his role. He is simply good in things he does, while Izabelle is seen adding the rest of the glamour in the movie. All in all, the movie seems to have a good concept.

As far as the negative points are concerned, you may find the same old stereotype kind of college romance subject, which is seen too often in Bollywood movies. Despite having a different angle in the movie, the director simply failed to showcase the same before the audience. However, a competent and experienced director could have brought forth a nice kind of concept. The movie is seen lagging behind in things like direction and consistency. Tanuj Virwani, who happens to be the son of Rati Agnihotri really need acting classes. Similarly, Izabelle, the glamour girl is supposed to tread the same path. The first half seems okay; however, the next half fails to attract people, while the rest of the people are seen disappointing.

Technically speaking, the movie fails have a right flow and is seen doing the chaos at different junctures. Even though the director has tried his best to showcase different emotions via a plot but at the same time he has failed implementing the things properly. The script is seen a bit under cooked without having any screenplay. As far as the music and editing part is concerned, these two elements are seen okay but cannot be called as par. All in all, you cannot afford to give higher ranks to the movie rather giving Purani Jeans 1 star unlike others is seen giving the same.
