Priyanka Set to Play Opposite Rajkummar Rao for Netflix film ‘The White Tiger’


Priyanka Chopra Jonas, after the release of the plot works of The Sky Is Pink almost seems to be on a movie signing spree. All geared up for the release of ‘The Sky is Pink’, she has been making the headlines due to her overwhelming emotional outburst as well. PC will be starring alongside Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim for this film. Apart from this, she also has in hand an Indo-Hollywood film based on the subject of Indian weddings, where she is working with Mindy Kaling. Very recently, she was also known to start the shooting for her net upcoming Netflix original film titled ‘We Can Be Heroes.’

However, another addition to her cap is coming with the buzz of signing another Netflix film, where the superstar has been paired opposite the very talented Rajkummar Rao. This will be the first time that the pair will be sharing screen space, together. As known the film is the movie adaptation of Arvind Adiga’s bestselling novel ‘The White Tiger.’ The film will be directed by Ramin Bahrani and produced by Jonas and Mukul Deora.

Talking about the project, Jonas shared a little insight, “I’m so excited to work with Ramin Bahrani and Netflix to bring Aravind Adiga’s poignant story to cinematic life. When I read the book, I was fascinated with the perspective of the narrative. The story’s portrayal of raw ambition and the extent one will go to achieve one’s goals is riveting. I look forward to filming this in India this fall and also working along with Rajkummar Rao for the first time and the wonderful cast Ramin is putting together.”

PC’s new co-star Rao also couldn’t keep away from expressing her overwhelming happiness, saying, “It’s an exciting time for actors today and I’m thrilled to be a part of such a world-class project. I’ve been an admirer of Ramin’s work and am excited to see The White Tiger come to life with Netflix!”

‘The White Tiger’ is expected to go on floors in the month of October this year in India.
