ALTBalaji’s Mission Over Mars was amongst some of the most anticipated shows in the OTT segment as Mission Mangal got floored quite recently. Fans willing to watch the diverse touch points of this historical event are all set to watch the web series version of the same. Relating to the launch of this most ambitious web-series ‘Mission Over Mars (M-O-M): The women behind Mission Mangal’, the wait for the fans is finally over as the web series started streaming on both- ALT Balaji and Zee5 platforms.

As far as the story of ‘M-O-M’ is considered, it roams around a fictional adaptation of India’s most successful Mars Orbiter Mission. The mission which added as one of the most privileged achievements of India in the space research world and inspired the Indians across the globe has been well depicted through the show. The web-series will also be praising the real-life heroes at ISRO who worked on the Mangalyaan. It has been produced by India’s Content Czarina- Ekta Kapoor, who has been known for ruling the television industry for decades and now the digital screen. M-O-M stars some of the most remarkable and veteran Indian actors like Sakshi Tanwar, Mona Singh, Nidhi Singh, Palomi Ghosh in lead roles, along with several others including- Ashish Vidyarthi and Mohan Joshi in the prominent roles. Produced by Endemol India and directed by Vinay Waikul of the ‘Dangal’ fame, ‘M-O-M’ is now streaming on ALTBalaji and ZEE5.

The web-series will be covering the journey of ‘M-O-M’ right from its inception to execution, taking forward a true story of the faith, grit and determination of the four lady-scientists who aid ISA (Indian Space Agency), overcoming the insurmountable technical and financial challenges that added to the up-surging time pressures for the success of mission over mars. Nandita Hariprasad (played by Sakshi Tanwar) is the Program Director of M-O-M, comes across as a no-nonsense woman, who never allows short term emotions block her way of her and her team’s long-term goals. The audience can expect the same glimpse of her fierce character in the trailer in the entire series, which was loved by everyone, already. Moushumi Ghosh (played by Mona Singh) the Project Manager, is highly competitive and hates to loose. Neetu Sinha (played by Mona Singh) Sr. Scientist Mission Design and Navigation is a born pessimist and believes that if there is a possibility of anything going wrong, it most probably will. She got into ISA (Indian Space Agency) due to her brilliance in mathematics. Lastly it is Meghan Reddy, who is a certified genius and an engineering geek, who is known for putting her best foot forward for making the mission a success. These women have not just made the entire nation proud, but also marked India’s position ahead of many other countries on the map making this mission quite an inspirational story.

During the launch of ‘Mission Over Mars’, Ekta Kapoor, Joint MD, Balaji Telefilms expressed her gratitude and happiness, saying, “We have been working on M-O-M for over 3 years, to showcase the inspiring story behind the women who helmed India’s historic Mars mission. Mars Orbiter Mission was launched on Mangal (Tuesday) so I also wanted to launch my series on Tuesday. Though this is a small thing, but I feel there is some celestial connection to us. I love to watch and present such stories as it ignites a sense of pride within me as an Indian.”

Sakshi Tanwar also addressed the media on the web series, “During our research phase, we were shown an impressive documentary on this mission and we got a bit of a glimpse of the narrative and what all went into making it a success. Through this web-series, we not only tried to celebrate the tremendous achievement of our nation but also the sheer hard work, grit and determination that these wonderful women scientists put into making it a success.”
