Poonam Sarnaik is an actress from Mumbai. She was born and brought up in Mumbai city. She did her schooling from Mumbai, while for her college headed to V G Vaze College completing her graduation in commerce. During her school and college days, she got involved in cultural activities mainly dance. Her particular interest was Zumba form of dance, which she not only learnt but also mastered to become a certified Zumba Instructor. Once she completed her graduation, she headed to pursue her career in this field becoming a full-time Zumba instructor and later also got the certification in it to be a professional in this field.
While she was working as a certified Zumba Instructor, she came in touch with a few TV series makers and then she joined Kingdom of Dreams group to make the aspiring actors and actress Zumba dance. While she was working with the group, she was spotted by the makers of TV show Patiala Babes. They were looking for a fresh face and found Poonam Sarnaik to be an apt person for their show. The TV show is aired on Sony TV and has just started in the small screen replacing the Big B Reality show called Kaun Banega Karorpati popularly known as KBC. The TV show is aired for half an hour.
She along with a slew of other TV stars both old and new are seen in it, which include Hunar Gandhi, Bhaujeet Dudan, Anirudh Dave, Anup Puri and Mohit Hiranandani in the key roles. This TV show turned into a debate since it was launched with a social media initiative #MaaYouCanDoIt challenge. The people participated in the campaign were supposed to share their views on their mother’s journey in upbringing them. This has to be presented in the form of a video over the social media sites with the above said hashtag at the Sony TV official page.
