Zero starring SRK enters the Rs 100 crore club
The Shah Rukh Khan starrer movie Zero has done average business at the box office. It was a disappointment for the makers and the lead stars to see the film getting a low figure despite getting a huge 4500 screens across the country. The film so far as has collected 78.83 Crores at the box office in the domestic market. On the other side, the overseas collection for Zero reached to around 35 crores, which made the film enter the hundred crore club. So the total collection of Zero at the global and domestic market together has reached to 108.83 Crores. As the film is of a high budget of the film, the makers are yet to recover the making cost, which still makes Zero a loss-making venture for them.
In this film, Shah Rukh Khan has played a vertically challenged man called Bauua Singh. The film has the known director, Raanjhanaa who has given films like Tanu Weds Manu. He did a decent job, and so was the actors in the lead role including Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. Though both the critics and audience liked their performances it was the story that did not get a positive response from the moviegoers. With this, it was proved that 2018 was a the bad year for Khans. Hopefully, the next year would bring something big for them, but at the moment the picture is not that rosy.
The film also had several stars in Cameo including Abhay Deol and R Madhavan as well. The Shah Rukh Khan’s banner Red Chillies Entertainment has produced the movie in association with the other known group Color Yellow Productions. Since KGF was also released with Zero, it proved out to be a menace for the SRK film. It gave a tough competition to Zero despite getting 2500 Screens all across the country. It went neck to neck and now is reaching close to 100 Crores. Also, the Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan film Simmba is releasing this Friday, which has a decent buzz in the media. Thus Zero has too little time to recover the money it has invested in its making.
