2014 is the year of numerous remakes in the history of Bollywood

Bollywood has been known for a number of remakes as well apart from being known for other reasons. A majority of Bollywood producers, directors and actors do often are seen considering the movies from the South Indian film industry for the remake. Many come as inspiration, while a slew of them have been a sheer copy and paste thing. The only difference you would find is the language, cast and crew along with things like music and songs. Interestingly, the year 2014 has maximum amount of remakes in the history of Bollywood. Though the main reason to such remakes seems to be unknown but a common grounds that has surfaced comes in the form of hit. The south Indian movies that turned hit were often replicated here in Bollywood. Well, let’s how 2014 has become the year of maximum remakes as under:

Jai Ho – the remake of Stalin

The very first movie hitting the theatres this year Jai Ho in January 2014 is a remake of the movie called Stalin wherein the mega star Chirangivi has worked as the main lead. The whole idea and story seems to be the same. Though the movie crossed the mark of 100 crores yet it doesn’t sounds to be fresh in terms of ideas and innovation.

Heropanti – the remake of Parugu

Yet another 2014 remake movie is Heropanti, which is considered to be the replica of Parugu wherein Allu Arjun was the lead character. Tiger Shroff the son of Jackie has made his debut in his career in Bollywood movies with it. The makers of the movie really tried hard hiding this fact during its release but such things cannot be kept under the carpet for long.

Holiday– the remake of Thupakki

Akshay is known to work in a couple of remakes and this time it was Holiday, which is a replica of Thupakki. In fact, he simply loves to work in the remake movies while his upcoming movie Gabbar also happens to be the remake of the south Indian movie called Ramanaa. Despites the remakes his star value often seems to be doing the magic.

Kick – the remake of Kick only

This time the producer has not even cared to change the name as well. The upcoming movie of Salman khan- Kick is the remake of the south Indian movie with the same name. It was a big hit there, starring Ravi Teja. Most of the stuff in the upcoming movie happens to be the same; however, the stardom of Sallu baba is going to add the music for sure. Kick is likely to be the big grosser of Bollywood in 2014.

Pizza 3D 2014 – the remake of Pizza

Again the same story, same name of a Tamil based movie called Pizza, which carried Remya Nambeesan and Vijay Sethupathi as the mail leads. However, the Bollywood Pizza would be a 3D version unlike its Tamil version with a couple of other changes.

Khoobsurat 2014 – the remake of Khoobsurat 1980

This time the producers of Khoobsurat have not went down in the south to pick any movie for their remake. However, they have chosen the movie with the same title of 1980. Interestingly, there is another Khoobsurat, which was released in 1999 starring Sanjay Dutt and Urmilla. Though the other remakes like Karzz, Sholay, Umrao Jaan, Himmatwala, etc. have been a big flow, let’s see what the stars of the upcoming Khoobsurat have to say, which carry he lead stars like Sonam and Fawad Afzal Khan.

Action Jackson- the Remake of Dookudu

Action Jackon takes the story from the Telugu movie known as Dookudu, which was done by Mahesh Babu. However, in the remake of the movie comes up with Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha. The south movie was a big hit, which has inspired people to go for its remake.

Tevar 2014- the Remake of Okkadu

Tevar is basically a remake of a Telugu movie known as Okkadu wherein we saw Mahesh Babu and Bhookia Chawla. The Bollywood version comes with Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi. Let’s see how it turns over the Box Collection?
