Yesterday we saw Sanjay Leela Bhansali having a closed door meeting with the Parliamentary Standing Committee to discuss his side of the story in alliance to the controversies that seemed to be surrounding his film Padmavati. Though not much is known about this meeting but the panel had people like Prasoon Joshi, Raj Babbar and BJP MP Anurag Thakur and others who seemed to have questioned Bhansali for submitting the film late for the Censor Certification. The fact is they even went on to reprimand the director for screening the movie to choose the media persons, even before getting the consent from the Censor Board.
However, Bhansali in his defense said that all the controversy over his movie is based on rumours and myth and that he has not distorted the facts. The film is simply based on the poem that was seen given by Malik Muhammad Jayasi and he is not willing to  to hurt anyone’s sentiments. As per reports, Bhansali has been given two weeks to make reply over the things that went wrong explaining why he submitted the film late. Hence the release date of 12th January seems to be going baseless now unless he clear things with the Censor Board.
Meanwhile, we saw the Bollywood actresses including Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Aazmi, Kangana Ranaut and Katrina Kaif have seen them coming to back the movie by signing a petition for things like safety of the cast and crew of the movie. It was revealed by an insider to the media saying that everyone has been approached. Now, the media is awaiting for the signatures of A-listers including the B Town actresses  Kangana Ranaut, Katrina Kaif, and two more actresses. Once they are signing the petition, the date for the release and other things would be declared.
