Nitya Mehra is a filmmaker, screenwriter and assistant director. She hails from Amritsar and was raised in this place only. She headed to Dehradun for her schooling completing her schooling from the reputed one called Welham Girls School. She comes from a Punjabi family and her mother is a fashion designer, and she always wanted to enter into creative field, which helped her to take up this career.
She then headed to Mumbai to pursue her dreams to enter into the said field and got her first break with the film The Namesake working as Assistant Director in 2006. She then assisted Farhan Akhtar for the film Don with Shah Rukh Khan as a leading actor the same year. Some of her other movies where she worked as an AD include The Other End of the Line, Life of a Pie and Little Zizou. She also worked with the Hollywood with Life of a Pie and The Reluctant Fundamentalist to name a few
As a director, she got her first break with the film Baar Baar Dekho with Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif. The recent is the film Unpaused with director of Chaand Mubarak. As an actress, she worked in TV with Anil Kapoor TV show called 24 and Made in Heaven. Talking about her personal life, she is single and not dating anyone. She lives with her family.
