Netflix Announces Sequel to Raat Akeli Hai with Nawazuddin Siddiqui Returning as Inspector Jatil Yadav

Fans of crime thrillers can rejoice as Netflix officially announces the sequel to the critically acclaimed Raat Akeli Hai. Titled Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders, the film sees Nawazuddin Siddiqui reprising his role as the sharp and relentless Inspector Jatil Yadav, who won widespread praise in the original 2020 hit.

The film is directed by Honey Trehan and penned by Smita Singh, the sequel is produced by RSVP and MacGuffin Pictures. It delves deeper into the gritty world of crime and deception, once again following Inspector Jatil Yadav’s quest for justice.

A New Case and Darker Secrets

Set a few years after the first film, The Bansal Murders centers on Jatil Yadav investigating a chilling new case—a cold-blooded murder that exposes dark and disturbing secrets within a powerful family.

Stellar Ensemble Cast

Alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the film boasts a strong ensemble including Chitrangada Singh, Rajat Kapoor, Deepti Naval, Ila Arun, Revathy, Akhilendra Mishra, Priyanka Setia, Sanjay Kapoor, and Radhika Apte.

World Premiere at IFFI 2025

Before its Netflix release, Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders will have its grand world premiere at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa this November.
