Mom 2: The Khushi Kapoor-Karishma Tanna starrer sequel Hits the Floors; Check Deets

Earlier this year, at the 25th IIFA Awards in Jaipur, Boney Kapoor revealed he is producing a film starring his daughter Khushi Kapoor, which could be a sequel to the 2017 hit Mom, originally featuring his late wife Sridevi. It has now been confirmed that the project is indeed titled Mom 2. Recently, pictures from the film’s sets surfaced online, and Bollywood Hungama has gathered some exciting updates.

A source shared, “Mom 2 began shooting right after Diwali, on October 26, in Mumbai. About 10-11 days of filming have been completed, and the shoot is progressing smoothly. Khushi Kapoor plays a significant role, and she is joined by Karishma Tanna.”The source added, “While the original Mom was directed by Ravi Udyawar, the sequel is helmed by Girish Kohli, who co-wrote the first film’s story and solely handled its screenplay and dialogues.

Boney Kapoor entrusted him with directing Mom 2 because of his deep understanding of the series and his proven talent, notably demonstrated in the Sohum Shah-starrer Crazxy, released earlier this year.”There is also buzz that Boney Kapoor might officially announce the film in a grand event on his birthday, November 11, with more details expected soon.

At the IIFA Awards, Boney had remarked, “I have watched all of Khushi’s films – The Archies, Loveyapa, and Nadaniyaan. I’m planning a film with her after No Entry 2. It could be Mom 2. She is trying to follow in the footsteps of her mother, who was a top star across multiple languages. I hope Khushi and Janhvi achieve the same level of excellence.”
