The B Town now enjoys a new trend of making interesting genre films, which is nothing but the biopics. We have seen a number of biopics made on actors, sportsman, and others. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is the man who has played different biopics which include the writer and poet Sadat Hasan Manto and the political leader and Shiv Sena Balasaheb Thackeray. Now, as per the latest buzz in the media, the actor is all set to hit the screens the godman called Asaram Bapu.
As per reports, Sunil Bohra the known filmmaker is gearing up for this biopic. He has produced several films in the past including Gangs of Wasseypur, Tanu Weds Manu and The Accidental Prime Minister to name a few. Now, as per the latest reports, he has bought the rights of Ushinor Majumdar’s novel called God of Sin: The Cult, Clout And Downfall of Asaram Bapu. Making this film based on this book would be a turning point in his career as the Godman remains the most controversial man in this country.
The film will deal with the journey of the godman from his early days to the days of his conviction last year. He was framed under the charges of rape last year and is currently serving life imprisonment. If reports are to be believed, the actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all set to play the character of Asaram in the movie.
While talking about the venture, he said that the life of Godman has been interesting and he has even met at the airport. He said he even talked to him before he came under the scanner. He said he led a carefree life and also happens to be a good orator. To play his character on the silver screen would be a challenge said the actor. Recently, we have seen the popular poker brand Poker Stars India has made him as their brand ambassador.
