Wiki : Madhur Bhandarkar is Indian film director, producer and script writer. He is best known for his movies including Page 3, Chandani Bar, Traffic Signal, Fashion and Heroine. He has won even Nation Award for the category of Best Director his movie Traffic Signal. He comes from a middle class family and is a college dropout. He did a number of odd jobs including working as delivery boy dropping cassettes at various places, selling chewing gums and chocolates at traffic signals and even worked as assistant to small time director for a monthly salary of thousand rupees. He also went to Muscat to find work wherein his elder sister lived but soon returned to work small time jobs in film city.

Biography : While he was working in a video cassette library in Khar (a suburb in western Mumbai), he got the opportunity to see a number of movies, which helped him study the art of film making. This landed him to try his skills working with small time filmmakers and directors, which finally led the roads to Ram Gopal Varma who offered him his assistant position to work with him. He was even seen in a cameo role in Varma’s movie Rangeela. Later he got the chance to direct his first movie called Trishakti, which took three long years to release in 1999. The movie didn’t have much key casts, which gave him poor response at box office.

In 2001, he embarked with another movie called Chandni Bar starring Tabu and Atul Kulkarni of a budget of around 1.5 crore. It turned out a big hit giving him recognition in the film world, which even gave him a national award. Since then it was no looking back and then he directed Page 3, which also gave him a national award and again the same happened with Traffic Signal. His movies include Corporate, Fashion, Heroine, etc, gave helped him carve his niche as a realistic filmmaker in the industry. He was also honoured with Gangasharan Singh Award by HRD Ministry of govt of India. He awarded a number of awards both at national and international level for shaping the industry for making some really good and worthy movies. All his movies are now being secured by National Film Archive of India (NFAI), which is an important body of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India. After his movie Corporate, he is even invited at various management colleges to deliver lecture on different corporate issues.
