Madhur Bhandarkar is a known director of Bollywood, who is popular of making realistic movies. Be it is Corporate, Page 3, or Fashion, he has made some of the best movies for B Town. Considering his incredible and realistic script, he was awarded at various places including both India and abroad. Continuing this trend, this man from Bollywood would be felicitated at the Syracuse International Film Festival by none other than the known actor Tom Bower from Hollywood. Bhandakar would be getting the Sophia Special Achievement Award at the said festival for his outstanding contribution in Indian Cinema.
The said film festival is scheduled next month (5th to 12th October) in New York City this year, wherein you could even find two of his movies – Heroine and Fashion to be screened. He has won the national awards four times for his movies like Traffic Signal, Page 3, Fashion and Chandani Bar along with a number of other awards from in India and award. Currently he is working on his next project called Calendar Girls, which is actually based on the lives of Calendar Girls, while the other movie comes in the form of Madam Ji wherein Priyanka Chopra would be seen in the lead role. However, the lead roles in Calendar Girls is yet to be disclosed before the media.
