Madgaon Express 2 to Go on Floors in February-March 2027: Report
The chaotic trio from Madgaon Express is preparing for another wild adventure. Kunal Kemmu is set to begin production on Madgaon Express 2, the sequel to his 2024 directorial debut. Lead actors Pratik Gandhi, Divyenndu, and Avinash Tiwary are all expected to return to reprise their popular roles.
According to a report by Mid-Day, the sequel is currently in its pre-production stage and is expected to go on floors around February or March 2027. Kemmu, who wrote and directed the original comedy hit, completed writing the screenplay for the sequel about a month ago. Sources close to the development shared that all three lead actors are excited to step back into their characters to continue the story.
The first installment of Madgaon Express revolved around three childhood friends—Dhanush (Avinash Tiwary), Ayush (Pratik Gandhi), and Pratik (Divyenndu) whose long-awaited dream trip to Goa turned into a chaotic mess involving local gangsters, illegal drugs, and lethal threats. The film emerged as a box-office sleeper hit, largely driven by strong audience appreciation for the main cast’s comedic timing and chemistry.
Rather than repeating the original storyline, Kemmu plans to expand the existing universe while keeping the core bond of the three friends at the center. The source noted that the sequel will serve as a natural extension of the trio’s chaotic journey and evolving friendship.
Before kicking off production on Madgaon Express 2, Kemmu will present his next directorial project, Vibe. The upcoming film stars Preity Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava, and Kemmu himself in key roles, and is slated to release in theaters on September 18.
