The Nikhil Advani’s film Katti Batti though got a slow start on its first day; however, it seemed picking up in its first weekend. This phenomenon was more witnessed in the suburban places and amidst the multiplex crowd. Yet it cannot be called as an impressive rush since only a section of the young audience was seen getting drawn to the film. However, the smaller towns seemed with low occupancy for the film for the obvious reason, which turns out to be the low time affair especially in the single screens. Since the movie was based on live-in relationship, it failed to attract good amount of audience at the box office.
As per reports, the collection for this Saturday tolled to around 5.23 crores, while on Sunday, it was around 6.5 crores. Thus the first weekend box office collection of Katti Batti tolled to around 17 crores, which is indeed not an impressive figure for the filmmaker who was expecting much from it. Though the film was the interest of Metro crowd, yet it failed to gather a good audience. It seems that there was hardly any word of mouth buzz for the film. Perhaps may be it is the result of negative reviews, which have floated by most of the critics. Surprising Nikhil Advani’s previous movie Hero was better in terms of collection than the one starring Kangana and Imran.
