Jyotika joins Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan for Vikas Bahl’s supernatural thriller
Following the announcement of R Madhavan joining Ajay Devgn in his highly awaited supernatural thriller, the makers have announced the addition of another celebrity to the cast. Jyotika, a popular Tamil actress, is scheduled to join the cast of Vikas Bahl’s untitled supernatural thriller.

Jyotika returns to Hindi cinema after a 25-year absence. The actress made her acting debut in the Hindi film ‘Doli Saja Ke Rakhna’ in 1998. The romantic drama, directed by Priyadarshan, saw her share screen space with Akshaye Khanna, but Jyotika primarily appeared in Tamil and Telugu films after that. Jyotika is a well-known name in the Tamil and Telugu cinema industries. She left the film industry in 2006, when she was married to superstar Suriya. She made her comeback in 2015 with comedy-drama ’36 Vayadhinile’.
Ajay Devgn, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak will produce the thriller under the banners Ajay Devgn Ffilm and Panorama Studios. More details regarding the film will be revealed soon by the producers. The untitled supernatural thriller is expected to begin production in June. The filming will take place in Mumbai, Mussoorie, and London.
This is Jyotika’s first collaboration with Ajay Devgn. She previously collaborated with R. Madhavan on the films Priyamaana Thozhi and Dumm Dumm Dumm. This is, interestingly, Jyotika’s second Hindi effort of the year. The actress is also part of Hindi film Sri, a biopic about the visually handicapped industrialist Srikant Bolla. In the film, she will be seen sharing screen with Rajkummar Rao. The film will be released in theatres on 15 September.
Meanwhile, some media outlets are reporting that the upcoming supernatural thriller is a remake of the Gujarati film ‘Vash’ (2023). The film received considerable critical acclaim and did well at the box office. The plot of the film centres around a family guy who takes his family on vacation and, regrettably, gets lost because of a black magic trick by a stranger.
