J-Hope reveals why 2018 was one of BTS’s toughest and most terrifying times

The rapper J-Hope of BTS has talked about how things got tough for Namjoon, Jin, Suga, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook of the group in 2018.

The rapper J-Hope of BTS has talked about how things got tough for Namjoon, Jin, Suga, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook of the group in 2018. J-Hope claimed that seven years ago, things became “scary,” “overwhelming,” and the BTS members even went “through a bit of a slump” on the YouTube variety show Pinggyego, which is hosted by Yoo Jae-suk and Jo Se-ho as well.

J-Hope was questioned about the most challenging period of his professional life. According to allkpop, he responded, “BTS was getting so much love in 2018 that I began to question whether we really deserved all that attention. It got a little frightening when people stared at us. Receiving a response is usually something to be thankful for, but it became too much to handle. Even the members experienced a period of decline.

The BTS member revealed that the group as a whole overcame those feelings. “Reminding ourselves of our message—Love Yourself” helped them push through it, he continued. The “idea wasn’t just for others; it applied to us too,” the rapper claimed. And we discovered true strength as we accepted it. He added that BTS was able to “learn and grow emotionally” through songwriting.

J-Hope discussed BTS’ impending activities when asked whether he has any recent worries. We’re getting ready to start team activities again now that everyone has finished their military service. However, it’s been a very long time—we haven’t spent almost three or four years together as a couple. As we get back together, I’m always considering the best way to cooperate with the members. I want to do it right since it’s been so long,” he continued.

BTS’s most recent album as a whole was titled Yet to Come (2022). The BTS members then went on to serve in the armed forces. Jin served in the military from December 2022 to June of last year. In October 2023, J-Hope was released from jail. In June of this year, Namjoon, Suga, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook finished their service.
