OMG 2: Viacom 18 COO Ajit Andhare Reveals Akshay Kumar Volunteered, Didn’t Charge Fees”

Oh My God 2 has received rave reviews from many quarters, but has yet to cross the ₹100 crore mark at the box office. There have been reports that the film went over budget due to Akshay Kumar’s high fees, but the COO of producers Viacom 18, Ajit Andhare, has clarified that Akshay did not charge any fees for his role in the film.

For those who are not aware, Akshay Kumar appears in an extended cameo as Lord Shiva’s messenger in Oh My God 2. His new look has also been well-received by his fans. Ajit Andhare, the COO of producers Viacom 18, clarified to Pinkvilla that the reports claiming that the film was made on a high budget due to Akshay Kumar’s remuneration are greatly exaggerated. He said, “Akshay didn’t charge a single rupee and in fact, he stood by us through both the financial and creative risks involved in making such a bold film.”

In the same report, Ajit Andhare also spoke about how smooth their previous collaborations with Akshay Kumar have always been. He expressed his gratitude to the superstar for his extensive involvement in Oh My God 2 in every way. He said, “We have a long history and understanding with him as a studio since OMG, Special 26, and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. I have always been in sync with him in taking up unconventional scripts that stand for something larger and meaningful.”

It is being said in these reports that the film may not have exceeded the budget of ₹50 crores, but there is no confirmation about this yet.
