Qala

Qala, the debut feature of Irrfan Khan’s son Babil, is now available on Netflix. Triptii Dimri, Swastika Mukherjee, Amit Sial, Neer Raao, Avinash Raj Sharma, and Ashish Singh also feature in the key parts in this psychological drama. ‘Qala,’ set in the late 1930s and early 1940s, is the story of an eponymous young playback singer’s tragic past and how it catches up with her, causing her to unravel at the pinnacle of her hard-won success. Her relationship with her mother, the pathology of her upbringing, and the neurosis that results, are the beginning and end of her spiral.
