Here’s how Abhishek Bachchan reacted when a fan said he became ‘gareeb’ after doing Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyaan

Abhishek Bachchan who recently appeared in The Kapil Sharma Show burst into laughter after reading a mean comment about his film with director Anurag Kashyap, Manmarziyaan.

Over the weekend, Abhishek and his Bob Biswas co-star Chitrangda Singh appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show. Post ka Postmortem, in which Kapil reads out eye-catching comments on his celebrity guests’ social media posts, is one of the show’s most popular segments. He read out a particularly caustic comment on a photograph that Abhishek had previously posted. In the photo, he was dressed as a Sikh man from Manmarziyaan.

The comment read, “Kaha tha na Anurag ke saath kaam mat karo, ye gareeb bana ke chhodta hai (Told you not to work with Anurag, he’ll make you poor).” Abhishek and Chitrangda were amused by the remark, while permanent guest Archana Puran Singh was taken aback. “Poor Anurag,” she said, covering her mouth in shock.

The original post had been shared by Abhishek back in 2018. He’d written in his caption, “In between takes while shooting the beautiful track ‘Chonch Ladiyaan’. Possibly one of the fastest song shoots I’ve ever done. @anuragkashyap10 finished shooting the day in about an hour! 2 shots and he was done. Hence, we had a lot of time to hang out on set as is evident in the above photo.”

Manmarziyaan, starring Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, had a decent box office success and received largely positive reviews. Abhishek had taken a break from acting to recuperate, and the film was considered as a semi-comeback for him. Since then, he’s acted in a number of films, including The Big Bull and Ludo, as well as the Amazon Prime Video series Breathe: Into the Shadows. He will be seen in Dasvi after Bob Biswas.
