For Mohit Suri’s Hamari Adhuri Kahani, the collection after the first weekend seemed very much decent. The film went as per expected despite getting low ratings from most of the critics and a heavy weight film at the other end in the form of Dil Dhadakne Do. Though it was not meant to give a good response from the very first show, yet it managed to give a decent figure at the end of its first weekend.
As per reports, the first weekend box office collection for Hamari Adhuri Kahani tolled to around 16.69 crores. Though the film witnessed a slow start, however, it picked up in the coming two days – Saturday and Sunday. The film is a love saga with Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan in the lead roles and with this figure the film has entered into the list of top 10 opening grosser of this year. The film has therefore beaten up the record of films like Bombay Velvet and Ek Paheli Leela.
However, if we compare the collection of this film with earlier films of Mohit Suri like Ek Villain, it was able to garner a collection of 16.72 in its first day, which is even higher than the first weekend collection of Hamari Adhuri Kahani. The first weekend collection for Ek Villain crossed half century with Siddharth Malhotra in a different look. Though the HAK has performed with a decent note during its first weekend, however, how the film would perform during the weekdays would be an interesting thing to catch up.
