She was born in the year 1984 on 13th March in a non filmy background. She hails from Sikh religion and was born in Portsmouth, which is in the southern coastal areas of England, however, for her career, she has shifted to Mumbai. After her schools and college, she headed to Mumbai to start her career in acting. However, for this, she has prepared herself by learning acting and dancing at the popular Kishore Namit Kapoor’s Acting School based in Bombay.
Geeta Basra started her career with modelling wherein she walked on a number of ramps apart from appearing few commercials as well. With a brief career in modelling, she got the offer from her first movie Dil Diya Hai in 2006, wherein she played the character of Neha in opposite Ashmit Patel and Emraan Hashmi. She then got the chance to do another movie called The Train along with Emraan and Sayali Bhagat in the year 2007. She then got the chance to do films like Zilla Ghaziabad wherein she was seen in a special appearance followed by another called Mr Joe B. Carvalho and Bhaiyyaji Superhit embarked in the year 2014.
Apart from doing a number of movies, she did a couple of music videos as well. These include the ones with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Sukshinder Shinda. Her song Ghum Sum Ghum Sum wherein she played the love interest of the male protagonist turned popular. As far as her achievements in her film career are concerned, she was nominated in her first film under the debut category, however, she failed to do garner any reward for the same. Now talking about her personal life, she is single but rumoured to be dating with the popular cricketer called Harbhajan Singh, however, when asked she often was seen saying that the two are good friends. She has a younger brother, who stays with her parents in England.
