Bollywood has a long list of upcoming sequels to some of the most popular films. Drishyam 2, starring Ajay Devgn, has already set the box office on fire.
Let’s take a look at some popular upcoming sequels we can’t wait to watch.
Aashiqui 3
Kartik Aryan plays the lead in the film, which is directed by Anurag Basu. The actor made the announcement via social media previously. The video featured Arijit Singh singing ‘Ab Tere Bin Jee Lenge Hum,’ and fans can’t get enough of it. Mahesh Bhatt directed the original ‘Aashiqui’ (1990), which starred Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal. Mohit Suri directed the second installment, which starred Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur.
OMG: Oh My God! 2
OMG was a huge success, and now the producers are planning a sequel. We saw the versatile actor Paresh Rawal deliver the masterpiece with Akshay Kumar in a spectacular manner. Akshay Kumar will direct the second instalment. Pankaj Tripathi, Yami Gautam, Arun Govil, and Rofique Khan will also appear in the cast. The film’s theme this time is the Indian education system. We simply cannot afford to overlook this masterpiece.
Fukrey 3
The Fukrey franchise has never failed to entertain us, and now the gang has reunited for the third installment. Mrigdeep Singh Lamba is the director of the comedy film franchise. While Ali Fazal will not appear in this film due to prior commitments, Richa Chaddha, Varun Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Pulkit Samrat, and Manjot will.
Dostana 2
Back in 2008, the daring story plot of homosexuality in ‘Dostana’ was the talk of the town. Back then, the film literally created a buzz among fans. Kartik Aryan was supposed to play the lead, but the actor has dropped out of the project. Although the producers announced recasting for the film, it has been put on hold for the time being. The sequel will be released in 2019 and will star Janhvi Kapoor and Lakshya Lalwani.
Krrish 4
Rakesh Roshan’s Krrish franchise has made it a point to keep the audience entertained throughout the film. This film gave us our very own Indian superhero. Last year, on the 15th anniversary of the first film in the superhero franchise, Hrithik Roshan teased ‘Krrish 4’ with a brief teaser. The first film was ‘Koi… Mil Gaya,’ which was released in 2003 and starred Hrithik and Preity Zinta. This was followed by ‘Krrish,’ starring Hrithik and Priyanka Chopra. ‘Krrish 3’ (2013), in which Hrithik and Priyanka were joined in the cast by Vivek Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut.
